Dear Bukasa Supporters-
We hope and pray you are all well and safe from the effects of the coronavirus as we safeguard ourselves and families here at home. We have been checking in with Pastor George and receiving updates from Bukasa village. COVID-19 has reached 23 of the 54 countries in Africa. Pastor George reports that even though there are few reported cases in Uganda, schools and churches have been shut down. Businesses are closing and social gatherings are discouraged. Public transportation is discontinued. Families are losing jobs and are therefore without income.
In my last communication with Pastor George, he said EICC teachers have gone to their home communities but are still being paid. Unfortunately, because of the shut-down, students are at home and not receiving daily meals. Conditions that have always been difficult have been made worse by this virus scare. Please be praying for Pastor George and his ministry. Pray for the students and their families. Pray that God will make a way through this difficult time across the world, and in that small, poor community.
THE GOOD NEWS: As of March 25, the Teacher Quarters project is almost finished. Only the roof and plaster work needs to be completed. For now, all work is on hold, but when the virus runs it course, the building will be finished quickly and ready for occupancy. PTL!
Thank you for your continued support. Your monthly contributions are vital to iheartBukasa and Ever Increasing Children’s Center as Pastor George struggles to advocate and provide help for the students and families of EICC.
I will be in touch with you as updates become available. Be safe. Keep praying. God is still sovereign over all in this world!
Blessings,
Bob and the iheartBukasa Team
