Dear Bukasa Friends-
Here is the latest update from Bukasa village:
Pastor George explains the situation is dire for many families. Daily wages pay for daily meals, and since the shut-down, no work results in no food. As the situation develops, PG reports that several children in the village have fainted, due to dehydration and lack of nutrition, and have been taken to the hospital.
One of the daughters of a local church pastor has also been hospitalized. The cause of her illness is undetermined, yet the emotional and financial weight on the family is heavy. We express our gratitude to an anonymous EICC supporter who has contributed funds (transmitted yesterday) to PG for that pastor to help with hospital expenses and family needs.
Through God’s blessing, and your continued financial support, we were recently able to provide $2700 for emergency food relief. With these funds, PG is now serving 100 families in greatest need- many of whom have children enrolled at EICC. He expects the supplies will last 10-14 days. Based on the size of the average family this means he is likely serving as many as 300 or more individuals daily.
Please continuing praying for Pastor George, his family, his school children, teachers, church members, pastoral team, and their families. Pray that God would multiply the supplies to meet the great need, and pray for hearts to be open to the Gospel.
Thank you for your continued support of EICC, especially during this current crisis.
In partnership with you for Ever Increasing Children’s Center,
Bob and the iheartBukasa Team
