Masks Required! Shut-Down Extended 21 Days!

Dear Bukasa Supporters-

I heard from Pastor George this morning. He asked that I pass along his thanks and appreciation for your continued support. Whether it is through student sponsorships, regular giving, or specific donations for additional food supplies, your generosity has allowed him to feed and support many in his village. Though his people are, in his words, “badly off”, more than 2000 people have been served at each of his 5 food distribution campaigns since the end of March- all due to your on-going support. THANK YOU!

Current status:
As of May 25, there have been 212 reported covid-19 cases in Uganda and no deaths. Masks are required for any outdoor activity with fines or threat of a six-month prison term for anyone disregarding the mandate. Since the outbreak, entrepreneurs and small business owners in the village have been shut-down. In a few regions government emergency food supplies have been delivered, but none to the Bukasa area- malnutrition is becoming a serious concern. In addition, the government has extended the shut-down for another 21 days.

As our friends and their families endure these hard circumstances, they send you their thanks for standing with them and providing hope. Any additional support you can provide at this time is most gratefully received.

Trusting God’s faithfulness and His provision through your generosity,

Bob and the iheartBukasa Team
