Dear Supporters and Friends of iheartBukasa
The Lord has been so faithful! Your generosity toward Pastor George and Bukasa village has been overwhelming. It reminds us of the account of the loaves and the fishes told in the gospel of John chapter 6. Jesus miraculously fed thousands from a young boy’s simple lunch of five loaves and two fish. Even after the needs of the crowd were met, the collected leftovers filled 12 baskets.
In the same way, over the past several months you, our team of supporters, have given abundantly beyond monthly school support to enable us to send Pastor George $6000-$8000 monthly! No matter what amount we send, the Lord amazingly provides even more so that more needs can be met- loaves and fishes indeed!
Your giving has helped Pastor George provide a meager, yet ongoing supply of food to help meet the desperate need in Bukasa. Not only are student families receiving supplies, but also his pastors’ families, and many other needy families in the village. Monthly, more than 6000 individuals, who would otherwise go without, are being served.
Please continue praying for Pastor George and his team as they make difficult decisions about how best to distribute food supplies, which are still far short of the overwhelming need.
As of July 30, there have been fewer than 1200 Covid-19 cases reported in Uganda, and 2 deaths. Yet, the government still requires closures of businesses, schools, and churches. The situation remains very serious.
Also, a big thank you to the family of one of our Bukasa Board members who donated 1000 masks, helping our Ugandan friends comply with the national mask requirement.
