Dear Friends and Supporters of Bukasa-You might remember, back in February, the original property cost for our classroom building campaign was $10,000. Unfortunately, as with most other goods and services worldwide, costs have gone up! The property owner raised the price to $15,000! In spite of this unexpected increase, during the first few weeks of our campaign we witnessed:
- BLESSING #1– sufficient funds were raised for Pastor George to purchase the property!
Thank you for your generous giving that made this possible! Now, with our first challenge met, our next hurdle is raising funds for construction- again, an increase from $10,000 to $14,000! Please consider further helping us reach this goal. You can easily donate on line at bukasa.org.In the midst of pressing on to meet this new challenge and completing the project, the Lord “poured” this into our lap:
- BLESSING #2– a freshwater well was installed in Bukasa Village!
Back in January, my sister sent me a link to Elijah Streams– a worldwide non-denominational Christian prophetic ministry actively providing funding for freshwater wells in Uganda. I contacted Elijah Streams who put me in touch with Show Mercy International, the Uganda-based ministry that installs the freshwater wells…and, as it turns out, they are located only 15 miles from Bukasa!Long story short: After our many emails and phone conversations, Mike Salley, director of SMI contacted Pastor George. SMI then sent representatives to Bukasa to assess the need, inspect the surroundings, and conduct interviews. Permission was granted from local officials, a viable site was determined, and funding was procured. The well project began on Monday, March 28, and was finished on Thursday, March 31 (photos below)!
We are awestruck and humbled by God’s continued hand of provision for Pastor George and Bukasa Village! Seeing the “water well miracle” appear out of nowhere makes us more fully aware that it is God who is in control. We are grateful to be used in this process and grateful for God’s touch on your hearts to give to support His work.
- Bukasa now has a fresh water well provided by the Lord God Almighty, funded by Elijah Streams, installed by Show Mercy International, and benefiting the many families of Bukasa Village!!
- It is a source of peace and comfort to relax in this truth: what gets done in and for Bukasa depends only on God!
