Difficult News – Please Pray!

Dear Bukasa Supporters-

Please be in prayer for my teammate, Joel Gambetta. He has developed small blood clots- one in his leg and another in his lung, which will unfortunately postpone our scheduled Sept. 14 departure to Uganda.

Joel has received emergency treatment, is resting comfortably at home, and has an upcoming appointment with a pulmonary specialist. This doctor visit will give us a clearer picture of when we can safely reschedule our flight to Entebbe. We are projecting that it likely won’t be until spring, at the earliest.

A happier note… School opened Monday, September 5!

Pastor George passes along his heart-felt thanks for your generous giving to help provide:

~school materials

~funds toward benches/chairs for the new classrooms

~Bibles for his pastors and church members

~Student Sponsor letters and backpacks

We want to assure you that our goals remain the same and that your donations will be directed toward meeting the specific needs for which they were given. We are also holding firm on our commitment to hand deliver letters and backpacks to your Sponsored Students during our rescheduled trip.

In the meantime, please be praying for Joel’s steady recovery, for the logistics involved in receiving a refund for our flight, and for determining a future trip date.

We are so grateful for your partnership in helping support Ever Increasing Children’s Center!

Blessings,

Bob and the iheartBukasa Team
