Gotta Get To The Toilet!

Dear Bukasa Supporters – Our last report re-capped our April visit to Bukasa and highlighted many completed projects since our visit 6 years ago- encouraging progress! We are confident in the Lord’s hand over Ever Increasing Children’s Center and we are especially grateful for your part in helping Pastor George provide for his students. TOILET CHALLENGE! The title above is designed to catch your eye and to announce an immediate need! EICC student enrollment is now 250 students +26 teachers and auxiliary staff. Government officials have determined the school’s 6 latrines do not adequately accommodate the school population. In addition, the latrines lack newly required separate entrances for boys and girls. Therefore, by order of Kampala City officials, Pastor George must construct new latrines. His plan is to purchase neighboring property and construct 14 stalls w/flushing toilets (7 boys, 7 girls), complete with separate entrances. Unfortunately, school will be halted unless or until progress toward this requirement is demonstrated. LATRINE CAMPAIGN- $20K- July 15 – August 31 We are kicking off our ‘Latrine Campaign’, now through August 31st, to generate funds and meet this need. OUR GOAL IS $20,000. Currently $10,000 has been raised. These funds will be transferred to PG early next week for purchase of property adjacent to the school. This step will demonstrate to city officials that progress is being made and hopefully delay any pending closure orders. Please join us in this effort! BIBLES NEEDED for CHURCH PLANT: Pastor Godfrey is the coach and PE teacher at EICC. He is also the lead pastor at God’s Will Ministry, a church plant from Ever Increasing Miracle Church, 60 minutes west of Bukasa Village. He has expressed a need for 30 adult Bibles in Luganda (native language), and 10 English Bibles for his congregation. Please help provide Bibles for Pastor Godfrey’s church members. Our goal is $500.
