Dear Faithful Bukasa Supporters
The iheartBukasa Team was delighted with the turn-out at our 10-Yr. Anniversary Event with Pastor George a few weeks ago. It was gratifying to be together with many of you celebrating God’s hand on Ever Increasing Children’s Center and iheartBukasa. We marvel at the growth that has taken place since 2009!
Since our Event was not a fundraiser, many who attended have asked how they might financially help meet the needs of the school…well, here is a perfect opportunity!
We are launching a Year-End, Matching Grant Campaign. A generous Bukasa supporter has offered to match whatever monies raised between now and December 30th, up to $10,000! Reaching our $29K goal will provide funds for construction of a second Teacher Quarters facility, and also meet some necessary on-going needs.
The Teacher Quarters structure ($20K by Feb. 1st) will include:
- Bedrooms
- Meeting room
- Toilets (a first for indoor plumbing!)
- Showers (another first!)
The on-going needs ($9K) include:
- Serving an additional 60 refugee children from the Democratic Republic of Congo who have been graciously accepted at EICC(this necessitates additional teachers, more supplies, new desks, and plenty more meals)
improving the nutritional quality of meals (500 served daily!) - Supplying additional fuel for the van used to transport students to and from school (that’s 240 trips each month!)
- Funding for the Pig Project ($200 provides 4 piglets and 12 months of the swine-flu vaccine for each newly enrolled family)
