Africa Departure Date Fast Approaching!

Dear Bukasa Supporters- My teammate, Joel Gambetta, and I will be in Bukasa village from April 19-30. We’ll have the opportunity to witness first hand the many changes at Ever Increasing Children’s Center and village community since 2017. We especially look forward to reconnecting with Pastor George, Margaret, and our many friends there. Our Daily Activities will Consist of: visiting old friends and making new acquaintances Interviewing teachers, students, and families observing classes in session delivering letters and backpacks to sponsored students touring the new 2-story, 4-classroom facility purchasing and distributing Bibles facilitating an entrepreneurial seminar with a local ministry and residents of Bukasa photographing students available for future Sponsorships and hosting a celebration dinner for teachers, staff, and administrators Grant Funds Received: Just this week we received a grand award of $6600 from Christian Foundation of America (CFA). Many thanks to CFA members and supporters who make such funds available for the work of non-profit ministries! We are grateful for their support of Pastor George and his work with the children and staff of Ever Increasing Children’s Center. Funds will be specifically targeted for semester needs, such as: kitchen supplies math, literacy, language materials religious resources exams basic supplies- paper, pencils, books, etc. nursery needs furniture adequate lighting cleaning supplies utilities maintenance graduation events salaries of staff Letters/Backpacks: As you know, we are hoping to deliver letters and backpacks from every Sponsor to each of their sponsored students. If you would like to make sure your student receives these items, please get them to me no later than April 14 (b.d.rhoads@mac.com / 805-428-5032). Hopefully, we will have a letter for you from your student when we return. Used Cell Phones/Chargers: Pastor George has requested that, if possible, we bring old cell phones and chargers. Even though outdated they can be of use in Africa and fulfill a great need. If you have old cell phones/chargers you would be willing to donate, contact me using the contact info above.
